Famed indie pop outfit The Shins have announced a new album. It is called 'Heartworms'. This will be the bands first new album in 7 years following 2012's 'Port of Morrow'. The album will contain the single 'Dead Alive', which was shared late last year as well as a new singe called 'Name for You'.

Port of Morrow is the upcoming studio album by The Shins, scheduled to be released in March 2012. It will be the first album by the band to be released through frontman James Mercer's new record label 'Aural Apothecary', as well as their first album to be distributed by Columbia Records. It is also the band's first studio album in nearly 5 years, following the release of 2007's Wincing the Night Away. Track listing 1. 'The Rifle's Spiral' 2.

'40 Mark Strasse' 10. 'Port of Morrow'. The site has a lot of promise, when I first heard about this album I came on here and thought “I’ll have to keep an eye on this”, then Simple Song was released and it showed up on here, but that’s kinda where this site stopped updating. Along with the songs release was the release date of the album, “March 20th”.

Someone (Ron) even made it a point to comment about it, but the page still shows the release date as March 31st. They’ve also released the track “September”, but there’s nothing about that posted.

Maybe it’s a lack of users or user interest in this album, but I just feel like this site is lacking a little in the “news updating” department. Oh and, I like the idea that three regular users have to confirm it has leaked before it becomes official, but it kinda bugs that for weeks now one person claims the album has leaked, which it clearly hasn’t. I feel like the site should remove that, there are tons of fake leaks out there and if someone sees this and thinks “oh man, Port of Morrow leaked!” and then downloads some bullshit virus or spyware or pays for some whack subscription, it might reflect poorly on the site (not nearly as much as the fool who fell for the fakes, but still.) That’s just my little rant. Not very solutions oriented or anything, I don’t mean to offend the people who run the site, I just honestly meant what I wrote, I wish this site was as awesome as it could be. Unch na 6p3s i 6n8s. (and for the record, I’ve only checked out this one album, so for all I know everything else is awesome.) •.

They're included as bonus tracks in the download version, though. Also, if you have any suggestions about the tracklist or the album art (which I know isn't great at the moment, feel free to make your own:D) tell me!
